I have just joined up with CASPA a not-for-profit organisation based in Lismore. CASPA supports traumatised and abused children who are unable to live at home for their own safety and well being. These children have intense needs arising from traumatic family and social dysfunction, requiring a range of social, psychological and therapeutic interventions.
Through CASPA’s out-of-home care programs they offer flexible options and a range of interventions and programs including residential care, intensive foster care, respite recovery, mentoring, semi-independent living, family and carer support programs and leaving care (post care) support services. Their aim is to protect and nurture these children in a safe and comfortable environment. Residential care provides children and young people who are unable to live at home for their own safety, welfare and well being.
It is quite expensive to provide this type of care to children so in a bid to raise funds and awareness of the work that CASPA does we will be holding the art expo & auction with visitors from the Lord Mayor of Lismore and art donated by Angus McDonald.
